Sibutu, Tawi-Tawi

Sibutu is a municipality in the province of Tawi-Tawi, Philippines. It is the southernmost municipality of the Philippines. It lies about 14 kilometers east of the coast of Sabah, Malysia. It was created out of 16 barangay of Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi, by virtue of Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act No. 197, which was subsequently ratified in a plebiscite held on October 21, 2006.

Sibutu like the other municipalities in Tawi-Tawi, is also home to the white sand beaches.
